Klya Johnson

INSTRUCTOR- TWERK & POLE CLASSES

Klya Johnson was a dance major at Benjamin D. Foulois and Suitland High School. At these institutions she studied Modern, Jazz, African, and ballet. Klya also enjoys twerking. Her dance experience is extensive. She has trained and studies at The Washington Ballet, Melvin Deal’s Dance Studio, Paula Brown’s Dance Company, Limitless Dancing Warriorettes, Divine Dance Institute, Diva’s Dolls & Fitness, Dance Place, and Dance Theatre of Harlem. She has taken classes with Daniel Harder and Alicia Graf from Alvin Ailey. Danced behind famous Gospel artists such as Dashawn Mitchell, Jeremiah Hicks, Michael White, and Ronnette Harrison. She was the Co-Captain of Platinum Dynasty, which is the dance team for Suitland High School Marching Band. During her senior year of high school, her choreography was the only one selected for the National High School Dance Festival in Philadelphia, out of four—from 2 teachers and 2 students. Currently, Klya is a junior at the University of Maryland College Park studying kinesiology and non-profit management.  In the dance world Klya aspires to become a known choreographer and backup dancer. She has danced on stage with Yung Miami from City Girls and Light Skin Keisha at a concert but plans to do more.


Talya Hagans

INSTRUCTOR- TWERK  CLASSES

Talya Hagans is 19 years old, Born in Washington, DC. She have been dancing since the age of  7. Talya is a aspiring model and dancer, she have taught large groups her very own Choreography and been requested to teach twerk lessons all over the DMV area. Talya is happy to join Twerk Werks and look forward to what the future will bring. 


Tanell Amber

INSTRUCTOR- TWERK AND HIP HOP DANCE CLASSES

Tanell A. Thornton is 26 years old, born and raised in Washington , DC

She have been dancing since the age of 6, Tanell joined her school cheerleading team in First grade and was voted most valuable 2 years in the row . She cheer leaded all the way up to middle school where she then joined a recreation dance team where she then choreographed the entire performance and won first place. Tanell then fell in love with dance even more .

From then she started to teach hip hop dance to the smaller kids in her neighborhood to give back to the community . By the age of 18 she was on an Adult dance teams in the DMV where she travel to perform in dance competitions. Tanell is now focusing on being a professional dancer and she aspire to be a creative director someday.

Sierra Lashay

ARTIST- SIP N PAINT PARTY HOST

Sierra Lashay - 22 - DMV - I am a self taught artist , I started painting at the age of 12 when I was nominated from my art teacher to participate in a mural that is located in my elementary school cafeteria. Art has always been a passion of mine , it’s my way to escape life . Art is my Therapy. I started to be more open with my art this year . I realize I have a gift from god that not many have . I love enhancing my creativity among others .I have my own art business “BeCreativeArtz” I sell paintings I’ve created , host sip & paints, and teach art lessons .

Artist Simone Agoussoye 

ARTIST: SIP N PAINT  PARTY HOST

Washington, DC born artist, Simone Agoussoye, has been honing her skills in portrait artistry for the past several years. Always known for her creative depiction of people, Simone blended her portrait skills with new non conventional techniques which has driven her to become more of a contemporary artist.

Simone’s evolution in portrait artistry has allowed her to explore using materials such as broken crushed glass in her portrait work. The use of this material has sharpen her craftsmanship and execution proving that she is very talented and creative having a drive to continue to grow and develop as an artist. Although known for her portrait artistry her subject of paintings vary from animals, to landscape, and abstract art.

As a child and throughout her life Simone received prizes for her artistic ability and creative talent. From a young age she knew exactly what she wanted to be when she grew up which was an artist. She pursued her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Art Institute of Washington and graduated class of 2011. She is also the recipient of various Awards from Country Fairs and State Competitions.

Simone’s artwork has been showcased at exhibitions in Washington, DC, Baltimore, MD and more including “Artist Evolutions” at the Art Avenue Gallery located at the National Harbor, Oxon Hill, MD. Her artwork is included in numerous private art collections throughout the U.S. and U.K. She has also created many commissioned works of art.
